80-90’s cartoons

Remember these pa hon? Here were some of my favorites and uh some other shows I watched

TaleSpin is a half-hour American animated television series that first aired in 1990 as part of The Disney Afternoon, with characters adapted from Disney’s 1967 animated feature The Jungle Book.

DuckTales was an American animated television series produced by Walt Disney Television Animation. The show premiered on September 11, 1987 and ended on May 6, 1990.

Denver, the Last Dinosaur is a US-French cartoon for children originally released in 1988 by World Events Productions (the same company responsible for Voltron and for Saber Rider and the Star Sheriffs). It was syndicated nationally throughout the US in 1988. Episodes often focused on issues of conservation, ecology and friendship. The show ran for two seasons, as the dinosaur boom that had followed The Land Before Time waned causing viewership to drop.

Star Wars: Ewoks (September 7, 1985 – December 13, 1986) is an American/Canadian animated television series featuring the Ewok characters introduced in Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi.

Jem (also Jem and the Holograms) is an American animated television series that ran from 1985 to 1988 in U.S. first-run syndication. The show is about music company owner Jerrica Benton, her singer alter-ego, Jem, her band the Holograms, and their adventures.

You have a band named after you!!! Daya…

Babybird Is a British Indie band formed in 1995. The band is fronted by Stephen Jones, who has also released records as a solo artist, using his own name and the name Baby Bird.

I shall become a bat…

From above I could see her standing in front of a bookstore, dozens of novels and comic books are displayed behind a clear glass. The escalator brings me down and I get off, the mechanical steps disappear underneath and start a journey back top.

I give her a kiss and a warm hug, she feels so soft. “Have you checked this place out?” she asks me.

After watching the Dark Knight a few weeks back, I found a new interest in old batty. As a kid watching the animated adventures with my brother was an essential part of the night. Not only were the episodes deep and dark which meant that you had to have a certain level of maturity to appreciate them, they were spellbinding and often left you with a lingering feeling of uneasiness. It was never clear if Batman won, sure he beat up the bad guy but you always felt that it took a hell of a lot out of Brucie.

And the movie reawakened that interest, I would have to say that before the Dark Knight, the best batman movie out there was Mask of the Phantasm (an animated movie back in 96 or something). So I started reading the comic books, and the best one out there was Year One.

It took me a while to find it, I’ve literally been to all the comic book shops, called them up and almost gave up in finding one. It seems that all of em ran out 2 years ago, but alas! My babybird comes to the rescue, my robin saved the day.
